Eqraa & Ijazah Program Grants Certificates for 59 Quran Reciters

Under the auspices of President of Umm Al Qura University (UQU) Dr. Bakri Bin M'atoog Bin Bakri Assas, around 59 Quran reciters were granted Ijaza Certificates during the 7th round of Eqraa & Ijazah Program which was organized by Saudi Scientific Association of Quran & Its Sciences “TBEIAN” on Wednesday, Rabi' Al Awwal 8, 1438H at Sheikh bin Baz Hall, Da'wa and Usul-ud-Din in Al-Abdiyah Campus and at Juffali Hall in the Girls Section.

This year's round was attended by Dean of Da’wa and Usul-ud-Din College Dr. Faisal bin Gamil Gazawy, Chairman of TBEIAN Dr. Abbas bin Hussein Al Hazemy, Head of the association's branch at Umm Al-Qura University Dr. Ahmed Al Huraisi, Director of Ameen Jaad Endowment Sa'ed bin Ameen Jaad (main supporter of the project) and a number of UQU officials.

The ceremony was opened after reciting few verses of the Holy Quran then a presentation was shown for the participants. 

In his comments, Dr. Al Hazemy shed light on efforts exerted by the Kingdom under the leadership of King Salman, Crown Prince and the Deputy Crown Prince in service of the Holy Quran and its reciters inside and outside the country.

He said the association's project comes in the same context and has 25 branches nationwide to serve the same purpose.

Al Hazemy underscored role played by the university to support the association's branch. He praised it and extended thanks to the endowment of Ameen Jaad and its director Sa'ed bin Ameen Jaad for supporting the project.    

Head of the TBEIAN branch at UQU Dr. Al Huraisi delivered a speech in which he thanked Dr. Assas and provided details about the new Ijazah holders of the seventh round.

The Ijaza certificate holders included 41 seven men and 18 women while the number of the reciters hit 30 including 22 men and 8 women.

The number of certified Qira'at hit 154 Qira'at and scripts including two scripts of the ten major Qira'at, two scripts of the minor Qira'at, one script of the seven Qira'at along with another script in the three Qira'at.

He said the number of Ijaza holders who received certificates in the previous years hit 369 in various Qira'at and Quranic scripts.

He asserted that the association is a leading organization and plays a major role in serving the holy Quran by a group of professtional specialists under the theme "Honor of Mission to a Nobel Goal".

Al Huraisi asserted that the program, as a source of pride, is carried out by the TBEIAN branch at UQU. He thanked Allah for success achieved in an institutional framework that caught the eyes of specialists who wish to copy and follow the steps of the association. 

As part of the event, the participants listened to few verses recited by one of the Ijaza certificate holders.

Addressing the ceremony, Dr. Assas praised the TBEIAN association as an extension for the Saudi role in preserving and protecting the Holy Quran started since its foundation by King Abdulaziz in Abdurrahman Faisal Al Saud until today under support of King Salman, Crown Prince and the Deputy Crown Prince, may Allah protect them, asserting, the Kingdom would continue its mission by words and acts.

He said: "The UQU, which honored by the sacred place and unique position, would spare no efforts to provide the necessary financial assistance and manpower as it includes a mixed group of scholars and Holy Quran specialists," he said, wishing luck for people responsible for the project.

At the end, Dr. Assas handed Ijaza Certificates for 59 students and honored a number of staff members and program participants. Also, he handed a memorial award for Director of Ameen Jaad Endowment Sa'ed bin Ameen Jaad.
