MOE University System Project Team Meets with IT Deanship Officials

In continuation of the unremitting efforts exerted by the government of Saudi Arabia for the transformation to the e-Government, the Ministry of Education (MOE) has held a preliminary meeting at the Deanship of Information Technology, Umm Al-Qura University to discuss means of cooperation in this regard and review requirements of the university system project with the deanship of IT in Umm Al-Qura University.  

In regard to Ministry's recognition of Umm Al-Qura University's technological distinction, it has been selected by the Ministry of Education for the first phase of the University Systems project which includes five universities to be linked with the university system via the Government Secure Network (GSN) established by the e-Government Program "YESSER". The meeting was held at the headquarters of the deanship of IT on Sunday 4th of Jumada II 1437H, corresponding to 13th of March 2016.

The meeting was attended by a delegation representing the Ministry of Education including Eng. Mohamed Fawaz and Eng. Hussein Fahmy, together with the representatives of the Deanship of Information Technology including Dr. Atef bin Mansour Al-Hijaili, the Vice Dean for e-transactions, Dr. Turkey Al-Ghamdi, the Vice-Dean for Technical Affairs, Eng. Ashraf Asfour, Applications Manager and Eng. Ahmed Al-Ramlawi, Projects Manager. 

The Ministry of Education project to serve Saudi universities (university System) was established to link all public and private universities in Saudi Arabia electronically with each other and with the ministry by creating a unified database.    

In this regard, the president of the university His Excellency Dr. Bakri Bin M'atoog Bin Bakri Al-Assas, and HE the Vice President for Development and Academic Accreditation Dr. Hani Ghazi and the Dean of IT Dr. Majid M. Al-Gethami Al-Otaibi have directed the aforementioned work team to provide all means of cooperation to join such important project as the university considers it a leading and unprecedented step, and beneficial to everyone.
