Vice-president of Educational Affairs Opens Chemistry Department Graduation Project Exhibition

On Monday, UQU Vice-president of Educational Affair, Dr. AbdulAziz bin Rashad Soroujy opened the chemistry graduation projects exhibition accompanying the 4th Scientific Forum, in presence of Dean of Scientific Research, Dr. Faisal Allaf, Dean of College of Applied Sciences, Dr. Waleed Altaf, Head of Chemistry Department, Dr. Hatem Al-Tass, Vice-deans, Department Heads, and students' parents at Al-Jawhara Hall in Female Students Section – Al-Zaher.

Upon the opening, Al-Soroujy took a tour in the exhibition, checking the various projects, posters, and researches; and listening to detailed explanation from Head of Chemistry Department, Dr. Al-Tass. The exhibition hosted over 20 graduation projects. Faculty members collaborated with students over a full academic year in student labs to produce successful scientific research projects

Dr. Al-Soroujy commended the research projects presented, pointing out to the benefits of those researches and how they will help students after graduation. Then, he praised the efforts exerted by faculty members, wishing them success.

Dr. Altaf stated that the projects help the student determine their future path based on their own project or inspired by review of their peers' projects. He expressed his appreciation for UQU President, Dr. Bakri Ma'touq Assas, and UQU Vice-president of Educational Affairs, Dr. AbduAziz Soroujy, for their immense support and dedication to all student activities at College of Applied Sciences.

Al-Tass indicated that the exhibition is an annual event held by Chemistry Department to showcase student graduation projects. It also offers workshops to develop student skills, including C.V writing, and orientation about potential careers at public and private sectors, and entrepreneurship.

He added that this year's exhibition featured more than 20 graduation projects, which are the fruit of huge efforts and hard work in chemistry student and research labs. Over the course of a full academic year, both students and faculty members showed dedication to scientific research in order to produce effective research projects that serves Makkah region. Additionally, the exhibition offered over 6 workshops presented by a number of distinguished specialists in the fields of HR, entrepreneurship, and modern chemistry research. Al-Tass thanked Dr. AbdulAziz Al-Soroujy, Vice-president of Educational Affairs, and Dr. Waleed Altaf, Dean of College of Applied Sciences for attending the exhibition and showing support.
