The College of Applied Medical Sciences at Umm Al-Qura University obtained the Specialized Accreditation for the Master's Degree Programs in both specializations of "Clinical Laboratory Sciences" and "Clinical Nutrition". It was awarded by the Health and Medical Sciences Committee affiliated to the permanent committee specialized in the examination of the academic qualifications and training programs of the Ministry of Civil Service.

The specialized accreditation of the "Clinical Laboratory Sciences" program included the accreditation of the associated streams, such as clinical chemistry sciences, diagnostic microbiology, and cytopathology and molecular pathology. This accreditation qualifies the holder of a master's degree in this program to occupy the position of "Laboratory Specialist" and "Laboratory Senior Specialist". On the other hand, the holder of master's degree in the clinical nutrition specialization is qualified to occupy the position of "Nutrition Specialist" and "Nutrition Senior Specialist". These jobs are considered to be governed by the Regulations for Health Jobs, provided that the master's degree in the field of medical laboratories is obtained from the specialized colleges in the health field.

Dr. Ayman Al-Sa'igh, the Dean of the College of Applied Medical Sciences, affirmed that the accreditation of these programs comes within the context of the attention paid by Umm Al-Qura University towards obtaining job accreditation for graduates from its academic programs, and pursuing accreditation of the academic qualifications compatible with the needs of the labor market at the current time.
