The Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Prince of Makkah Al-Mukkaramah region, His Royal Highness Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, witnessed, in the headquarters of the emirate in Jeddah, the ceremonies of signing several strategic partnerships between the Directorate of Prisons in Makkah region and King Abdulaziz University, Umm Al-Qura University, the University of Jeddah, as well as Taif University. This was to enhance the scientific and academic cooperation fields, besides the research, medical and educational consultation.
The partnerships come as a foundation of the ongoing cooperation between the universities and the Directorate of Prisons in Makkah Region, an activation of the community responsibility among the country's institutions, a direction of the current efforts to collaborate in the rehabilitation of prisoners, and an implementation of the training and skills development of the employees of the Directorate of Prisons in Makkah Region in a manner that conforms with the constant development in the prisons' operations and services.
This university agreement was signed by UQU's Acting President, Dr. Abdul Majeed Al-Ghamdi, and the Director of the Directorate of Prisons in Makkah Region, Major General Majed Al-Dawish. Dr. Al-Ghamdi pointed out that this agreement comes within the framework of the community responsibility towards the university, through which many consultation, social, psychological and medical studies as well as training and academic programs will be conducted. This is in addition to the elements of scientific research that UQU strives to employ in serving and developing the society.
