Dr. Abdullah Al-Futini, an art professor at Umm Al-Qura University and Head of the Saudi Scientific Association of Arabic Calligraphy, has recently inaugurated his plastic art exhibition entitled "Implications of the Beautiful Past". The exhibition was held in Jeddah with the aim of highlighting the historical landmarks of Makkah, and was attended by a number of plastic artists and businessmen in the presence of different mass media.
The exhibition included a wide variety of plastic arts which reflect the old details of Makkah through paintings that highlight Makkah's ancient alleys and mountainous nature, in addition to different early Makkan tools and old written proverbs.
Dr. Al-Futini renewed his call for plastics artists from different areas to highlight the features of the Saudi heritage with its moral and artistic values. He also asked them to participate in heritage and cultural activities in order to enrich the Saudi culture, and to enhance the spirit of belonging to the national culture.
