It is worth mentioning that the Persian Language is considered one of the Indo European languages that is prevalent in Iran. Its sister languages, Tajiki (Tajikistan), Dari (Afghanistan) and Kurdish (Kurdistan), are also spoken languages. Nearly 82 million people speak Persian and its sister languages.
The Persian language is known by many names: "Persian", which is the most frequently used name in the English language as the term was derived from the Latin word "Persia", which was derived from the Greek word "Persis". This term is the most common term throughout the world. However, the name "Parsian" was derived from the word "Pars", which is the name of the area where the language developed. This term could be pronounced without the sound of the letter "P", and is considered the improved form of the Persian language. As for the name "Dari", it is the local name used for the Persian language in Afghanistan, while the name "Tajiki" is the local name used for the Persian language in Tajikistan.
