His Excellency the UQU President Meets with the Dean of the Technical College at Makkah

On behalf of His Excellency the Governor of the General Organization for Technical and Vocational Training, Dr. Ahmad Al-Fuhaid, the Dean of the Technical College at Makkah, Dr. Abdullah bin Ali Al-A`raj, expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Excellency the UQU President, Prof. Abdullah Omar Bafail, for the participation of the university students in the "National Skills Competition" held in Makkah region. The competition was organized according to international standards in the areas of (engineering, technical, and vocational disciplines), and was devoted to young Saudi men and women under 23 years of age.

During the meeting, Dr. Al-A`raj briefed His Excellency the UQU President on the specializations offered by the Technical College in Makkah and the future fields it will provide in the labor market to the trainees, covering namely the following programs: mechanical technology, electrical technology, computer technology, tourism and hospitality, Hajj and Umrah services, and administrative technology. The meeting also included an overview of the major achievements made by the college during the current stage, and its future plans.

It is worth mentioning that 190 young men and women, from all colleges and institutes of the organization as well as the public and university education sectors and other sectors, participated in the National Skills Competition held in Makkah Region. It was held at the Secondary Industrial Institute and the Technical College for Girls in Jeddah, during the period 24 to 25 Jumada Al-Awwal, 1440 A.H. The competition covered the following thirteen skills: graphic design, automotive technology, network systems management, web page design, business software solutions, electronics, welding, refrigeration and air conditioning, AutoCAD (engineering drawing), electrical work, fashion, hairdressing, and cybersecurity.
