The Faculty of Education held on Monday, Jumada Al-Akhira 26, 1437 Hijri, a scientific seminar titled “Experimental Approach in Scientific Dissertations: Necessary or Optional”. The seminar was attended by the University Vice-President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Thamer bin Hemdan Al-Harbi, Dean of the Faculty of Education, Dr. Ali bin Moslih Al-Matrafi and deputies of the Faculty in the grand hall in the faculty building in Al-Abidiah.

The seminar was presented by Dr. Abdullatif Hameed Al-Raiqi and Dr. Mohammed Eissa Fahim and was run by Dr. Farid bin Ali Al-Ghamedi. Dr. Al-Raiqi presented a full-fledged explanation of why the experimental approach is better than any other research approach, the modern trend to give it preference in scientific dissertations, and the problems facing application of this approach in behavioral sciences, as well as the flaws of some master dissertations using this approach.

Dr. Fahim discussed three points; the approach as a framework and concepts; subjectivity and objectivity in social sciences and using quantitative and qualitative approaches in social sciences. Then participations of the audience started, and at the end of the seminar, participants were honored.
