The NCAAA Is Proceeding with the UQU Assessment for Institutional Accreditation

Yesterday morning, His Excellency the UQU President, Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, received, at his office, the Head and Members of the National Center for Academic Accreditation and Assessment (NCAAA). The visit took place in the presence of senior administration members of the university and the dean of Academic Development and Quality.

The delegation of the National Center for Academic Accreditation and Assessment was comprised of the following members: Dr. Muhammad Al-Madani, Public Relations Manager Salih Al-Sumait, and Jawahir Al Saud, in addition to the members of the Revision Committee, headed by Martin Henso. A number of academic experts were also among the delegation. They will inspect the facilities and convene with the university officials and personnel during the period from 2 to 6 Sha`ban 1440 A.H.

His Excellency the UQU University President said, "The improvement of service quality in the facilities at the university's main headquarters and branches has been taken into consideration." He also stressed that "obtaining institutional accreditation comes as part of the university's commitment to further develop its educational, research, and administrative environment, in addition to preparing human cadres, since they constitute a key element in the development process."

Dr. Hani Ghazi, the Vice President for Development and Entrepreneurship, highlighted that the aim of the visit conducted by the delegation of the National Center for Academic Accreditation and Assessment comes within the framework of verifying the compliance of the university with its self-study strategic action plan for improvement. The key elements of this plan rely upon learning and education, scientific research, upgrading the level of the infrastructure, external cooperation, enhancing community responsibility, investing in the knowledge economy, and developing leaders, administrators and technicians, while remaining committed to the principle of quality assurance.

The Dean of Academic Development and Quality, Dr. Muhammad Thabit, said that the visit of the delegation has been scheduled for five days, during which an inspection of the facilities is to take place, along with meetings with relevant personnel from all categories. He added that, at the conclusion of the visit, a comprehensive meeting will be convened for all the beneficiaries of the services provided by the university. In this special meeting, set to be held in King Abdulaziz Historical Hall, the team leader will give a summary on the outcomes of the visit.
