UQU President Reviews the Activities of the College of Social Sciences

His Excellency the President of Umm Al-Qura University, Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, was briefed on the cultural and extracurricular activities and programs in the College of Social and Cultural Sciences during his meeting with the Dean of the College, Dr. Adnan Al-Harbi, and Dr. Salim Urijah, the Head of the Mass Communication Department. He also received a series of scientific publications by Dr. Wadi` Al-Az`azi, a faculty member at the Department of Mass Communication.

Dr. Adnan Al-Harbi confirmed that the college has worked on developing a plan of action and a cultural program to enhance the cognitive aspects of the students in parallel with the educational process. He pointed out that the activities are diverse, covering all fields of social and media sciences, as well as geography and humanities. Moreover, as the college seeks to develop the students' cognitive abilities, the college's Scout Club was launched.

The Head of the Mass Communication Department, Dr. Salim Urijah, pointed out that a strategic plan had been prepared for the activities and events of the department in line with the strategic vision and plan of the university. He also noted that the department is witnessing a cultural and knowledge movement in various media sciences.

Dr. Wadi` Al-Az`azi pointed out that his scientific publications deal with different topics, and are important reference for students of the Mass Communication Department in the fields of radio and television, production of audiovisual materials, new media and propaganda. He praised His Excellency's keenness to meet him to receive the publications. He then praised the support provided by the Dean of the College of Social Sciences, Dr. Adnan bin Nuri Al-Harbi, and the Head of the Mass Communication Department, Dr. Salim Urijah, and thanked them for their support and encouragement during his scientific and research career at Umm Al-Qura University.
