The College of Da`wah and Fundamentals of Religion at Umm Al-Qura University concluded the "O My Son, Observe Prayer" campaign. It was organized from the 4th to 26th of the current lunar month by targeting more than 50 female students at public schools in Makkah Al-Mukarramah.

The campaign aimed at educating female students about the importance of prayer and its status in Islam, in addition to promoting the principle of communal partnership between the university and the external bodies to activate diverse cultural and educative programs. The Vice Dean of the College of Da`wah and Fundamentals of Religion for Educational Affairs, Dr. Su`ad Babaqi, stated that the activity centered on educating female students about the status of prayer and how to treat it as an act of worship, not just a mere habit that is done as an obligation.

Babaqi pointed out that the idea of the educative campaign sprang from the "Be Happy" initiative that was activated through the directions of His Excellency the President of the University, Prof. Abdullah Bafail. This is because prayer is closely related to happiness in this world and the hereafter.

Dr. Su`ad Babaqi indicated the college's keenness on activating the exhibition accompanying the campaign in order to broaden the horizons of awareness outside the scope of the system. This was achieved by inviting all female students of the two stages: preparatory and secondary schools from the public schools in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, to visit the exhibition. They were accompanied by the Assistant Director of the General Directorate of Education in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, Dr. Aminah Al-Ghamdi, who praised the efforts exerted in activating different programs and educative activities for the female students.

It has been mentioned that the activity included weekly programs with diverse activities, such as courses, cultural competitions, and mobile educative exhibitions offered by female students at the student council at all institutions. Moreover, there were specific programs dedicated to the female students of the Institute of Arabic Language for Non-Native Speakers and the university affiliates.
