The Acting Governor of Makkah Region Celebrates the Graduation of 7600 UQU Students

His Royal Highness Prince Badr bin Sultan bin Abdul-Aziz, the Acting Governor of Makkah Region, celebrated the graduation of 7600 UQU students from various disciplines and academic degrees. The celebration took place on Tuesday evening at the university's main headquarters at Makkah, the University College in Jamoum, and its branches in the provinces of Al-Qunfudhah, Al-Leith, Adham, and Jamoum.

This took place within the context of the Graduation Ceremony of the 67th batch of Umm Al Qura University, which was held at the Sports Stadium in Al-Abdiyyah University City in the presence of His Excellency the UQU President, Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, and a number of dignitaries, government officials, vice presidents, college deans, staff members, and parents of students

Upon the arrival of Prince Badr bin Sultan at the ceremony headquarters, the royal anthem was played. With an opening speech, His Excellency the UQU President welcomed His Royal Highness and all those who attended the graduation ceremony. He then praised the support of the wise leadership for of the educational process and its research and administrative environment. He also highlighted the care and attention extended by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the Governor of Makkah Region, His Royal Highness Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, and the honorable presence of the Acting Governor of the Region, His Royal Highness Prince Badr Bin Sultan.

Next, His Excellency congratulated the graduating students on their achievement and awarded them their well-deserved degrees according to their field of study, after their fulfillment of the graduation requirements according to their specializations. He wished them success in their career journeys to serve their religion and their homeland.

The UQU Dean of Admission and Registration, Dr. Abdul-Rahman Al-Ghamdi, announced the numbers of the 67th batch for the academic year 1439/1440 A.H., who totaled over 18,000 graduates from various disciplines and academic degrees.

Dr. Al-Ghamdi stated that the current batch was made up of 7600 graduates representing several higher university degrees (PhD, master's degree, higher diploma, bachelor's degree, and general diploma) at the university's headquarters in Al-Abdiyyah and its branches. He pointed out that the graduates were of 103 nationalities from across the world. He expressed the university's pride in the graduation of some of brightest sons and daughters of this nation - qualified and equipped with science and knowledge to contribute with their scientific expertise to the construction of their homeland in all fields.

The graduates' speech was delivered on their behalf by graduate student Khalid Al-Buqami, in which he commended the government's support for the development of scientific curricula and programs to keep pace with the ambitious Saudi Vision 2030. He praised the efforts made by the UQU president to harness the scientific potential of the university and employ modern techniques to create a stimulating scientific environment that allows students to set a national and global example.

Afterwards, the graduates of the medical colleges repeated the oath after the Dean of the College of Medicine, Dr. Abdul-Salam Nour Wali. At the conclusion of the ceremony, His Excellency the UQU President honored the Acting Governor of Makkah Region, His Royal Highness Prince Badr Bin Sultan, for attending the 67th batch graduation ceremony on behalf of the Saudi Government.
