The UQU Mobile Dental Clinics continued their awareness, research and treatment missions that included paying regular visits to schools, colleges, remote areas surrounding Makkah, Al-Birr Associations, people with special needs, and various private and public sectors.

The mobile clinic paid its first visit for this academic year on Thursday, Safar 3, 1438H, to Al-Malhaa Primary and Preparatory School for Qur’an Memorization, affiliated to the Education Department of Makkah Al-Mukarramah. The campaign was welcomed by a great number of school members and village residents, on top of which was the School Principal, Mr. Abdouh Sultan Al-Jizaani. In attendance were the College Vice-dean for Clinical Affairs, Dr. Hassan bin Suleiman Hazzazi, and a group of interns: Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Maliki, Dr. Abdulwahed Himsi, Dr. Badr Al-Ghamidi, Dr. Ayman Fadan, and Dr. Ali Al-Shamarani.

The clinic has received more than 60 persons from the school members, whom underwent initial check-ups and examinations by the latest equipment and medical tools, after which proper curative and preventive actions were taken. Also, some emergency cases were treated.

Moreover, the interns delivered awareness lectures for the school students and clinic outpatients on the importance of good oral care, encouraged the students to regularly and correctly brush their teeth, and distributed giveaways and awareness pamphlets to the students and teachers.

As the visit drew to an end, the school members praised the efforts of the UQU, its President, Dr. Bakri bin Maatouq Assas, the College of Dentistry, and the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Dr. Abdulaziz Khawatani for their contribution to raising the oral health awareness of the school students in remote areas of Makkah Al-Mukarramah.

The College of Dentistry seeks in its new academic year to continue its missions to serve the society, and expand the target places of its mobile clinics.
