On Wednesday 6 Rajab 1440 A.H., the Computer Science Department at Jamoum University College (male and female sections) held the Hakathon Challenge for the fastest male and female programmer, in which students competed to correctly solve a programming task in a record time.
The competition was fierce and the ability levels were very close between the male and female competitors. Student Alaa Al-Husni won first place as the fastest programmer in the male section, completing the task in 29 minutes and 2 seconds, while student Rola Al-Barakati won first place as the fastest female programmer, completing the task in 23 minutes and 57 seconds.
The Head of the Computer Science Department, His Excellency Dr. Tariq Al-Afif, and His Excellency the Dean of the College, Dr. Tawfiq bin Ali Al-Shareef, presented the shield for the fastest programmer to the winning male student in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Ahmad Sabhi, the Vice Dean of the College for Development and Entrepreneurship, and a number of staff members. The Vice Dean of Jamoum University College, Dr. Hanadi Qamrah, and the Deputy Head of the Computer Department presented the shield for the fastest programmer to the winning female student.
The event included a number of activities in which the participants in the challenge were welcomed and the idea of the competition was explained. The activities also included a scientific lecture on virtual reality presented by Ms. Ibtisam Al-Harbi in the female section.
