The Intellectual Awareness Unit is pleased to announce it will hold a scientific symposium entitled "The Roots and Effects of Feminist Thought." The symposium will be moderated by His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Salih bin Darbash Al-Zahrani, the Associate Professor at the Department of Islamic Creed and member of the Intellectual Awareness Unit. It will host His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Halfan Al Aish, Professor of Islamic Education at the College of Education, and His Eminence Sheikh Muhammad bin Ibrahim Al-Sa`idi, the Assistant Professor of Islamic Shari`ah. The symposium will focus on the following topics:
- Defining feminist thought and giving a historical brief about it.
- The roots of feminist thought and its consequences.
- Feminist thought and the rights of women.
- Feminist thought in Islamic countries.
- Feminist thought in international organizations and conferences.
- Feminist thought in education and family.
- The phenomenon of deception in feminist thought.
- Feminist thought and economics.
The symposium will take place at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday 12 Rajab 1440 A.H., by the Will of Allah, and will be broadcast live to the female section in Al-Jafali Hall (2).
