His Excellency, Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, the President of Umm Al-Qura University, launched a training program on Monday, 4 Rajab, 1440 A.H., at His Excellency's office, to qualify male and female students who are about to graduate for the labor market. The program, which was held for the first time in Saudi Arabia at the level of Saudi universities, was organized by the College of Community Service and Continuing Education in line with the university's vision and mission. The event took place in the presence of the Dean of the College, Dr. Khalid Barqawi, the Vice Dean of the College, Dr. Salim Al-Utaibi, and the Head of the Training Department, Dr. Salih Al-Firaih.
Dr. Barqawi pointed out that His Excellency UQU President has given increasingly more care and attention to such programs that target the students expected to graduate this year, in order to prepare and qualify them for the labor market in accordance with the requirements of the Saudi Vision 2030.
The Head of the Training Department, Dr. Salih Al-Firaih, pointed out that the free training program includes a variety of courses which were specially designed to suit the students who are graduating this term, in order to prepare them well for the labor market in the age of science and the Internet. The student can take advantage of the courses, free of charge.
The courses were designed interactively and practically, using a set of templates, applications and interactive web pages, which were prepared to produce the targeted documents in each session after the presentation, analysis and simulation of the models. The courses offered include: Short CV Preparation Skills, Dealing with Recruitment Platforms (Job Search Skills), Job Interview Skills, Preparing Documents for Employment Applications, as well as Time Management Skills, Prioritization skills, and Effective Communication Skills.
Al-Firaih said that the program includes 7 courses for students expected to graduate this year, and will start on next Wednesday, 6 Rajab, 1440 A.H., for 7 weeks, one course per week given on two morning and two evening sessions, at King Abdul-Aziz Historical Support Hall for male students, and two morning and two evening (afternoon) sessions for the female students in Al-Jawhara Hall.
