His Excellency Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, the UQU President, will launch the “Makkah: Between Heritage and Originality" festival on Tuesday, 5 Rajab, 1440 A.H. The festival is organized by the General Department of Museums, in partnership with a number of sectors and entities. The festival covers the UQU historical area, which serves as a beacon of cultural heritage and a bridge between the modernity of the present and the originality of the past.
Dr. Fahd Al-Malki, the General Supervisor of the Museums Department at UQU, explained that the festival will be part of the department's activities and programs, and will be held over a period of three months. The festival will include a number of accompanying events revolving around the preservation of the heritage and fostering originality as well as choral and plastic arts, stressing the importance of assigning care to artisans and innovators in these fields.
Moreover, His Excellency the UQU President, Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, will inaugurate the office of the Saudi Historical Society in Makkah in the presence of Dr. Abdullah Al-Zaidan, the President of the Society, and a number of its members at different Saudi universities.
