On Monday, 4 Rajab 1440 A.H., His Excellency the UQU President, Prof. Abdullah Bafail, launched an awareness campaign entitled, "O My Son, Observe Prayer". It was held by the College of Da`wah and Fundamentals of Religion in the presence of the Dean of the College, Dr. Faisal Ghazawi, and the Dean of the College of Shari`ah and Islamic Studies, Dr. Ra'id Al-Utaibi, in addition to the college vice deans, academic staff, and affiliates. The event took place at Sheikh Bin Baz Hall, in Al-Abdiyyah.

The Dean of the College, Dr. Faisal Ghazawi, said that "O My Son, Observe Prayer" campaign was one of the awareness-raising and guidance campaigns organized by the College of Da`wah and Fundamentals of Religion for its students, sons and daughters. It was launched within the context of lending advice and reminding the students of the duty of prayer, the second pillar of Islam, which Allah enjoined on us and our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) urged us to perform regularly. Dr. Faisal also mentioned Luqman's advice to his son about the importance of being consistent in prayer and offering it perfectly, sincerely, and regularly in its prescribed times, and the goodness and prosperity that prayer brings to the life of those who adhere to it.

Dr. Ghazawi praised the support and keenness shown by His Excellency the UQU President in holding such events. He added that the campaign would include a number of accompanying activities, such as cultural competitions, seminars, meetings, lectures, and training courses.

Afterwards, the audience saw a visual presentation about the campaign and the "Qur'anic Hidayat (Guidance)" competition. His Excellency the UQU President then took a tour of the exhibition that accompanied the campaign and was held at the club headquarters of the College of Da`wah and Fundamentals of Religion. The exhibition included a number of informative boards about prayer and its importance.
