On Wednesday 29 Jumada Al-Thani 1440 A.H., the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Institute for Hajj and Umrah Research at Umm Al-Qura University signed six (6) cooperation agreements on the sidelines of the 19th Meeting for Hajj and Umrah Research and its accompanying exhibition held in Madinah on 6-7 March 2019 A.C., under the noble patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud, may Allah protect him, in collaboration and partnership with Taibah University.
The agreements were signed between the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Institute for Hajj and Umrah Research at Umm Al-Qura University and the Islamic University, Taibah University, University of Prince Mugrin bin Abdul-Aziz, Taif University, the General Directorate of Civil Defense, and the Haji and Mu'tamir Gift Charity Association that specializes in serving pilgrims, Umrah goers, and visitors and raising awareness in Makkah during the Hajj and Umrah seasons.
The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Institute for Hajj and Umrah Research was represented by the Supervisor General, His Excellency Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, President of Umm Al-Qura University (UQU). The Islamic University in Madinah was represented by its president, Dr. Hatim Al-Marzouqi. Taibah University was represented by its president, Dr. Abdul-Aziz Al-Sarrani. The University of Prince Mugrin bin Abdul-Aziz was represented by its president, Dr. Khidir bin Alyan Al-Qurashi. Taif University was represented by its president, Dr. Hossam bin Abdul-Wahab Zaman. The General Directorate of Civil Defense was represented by the Assistant Director-General for Planning and Development, Maj. Gen. Abdullah bin Hamed Al-Ahmari. The Haji and Mu'tamir Gift Charity Association was represented by its director general, Mr. Mansour bin Amir Al-Amir. The Hajj and Umrah Research Institute was represented by its dean Dr. Sami Brahmin, who said the reason behind these agreements is to boost joint cooperation in the different fields of studies and research projects and strengthen solidarity to serve the pilgrims, Umrah goers, and visitors, including all the fields working on or supervised by the signatories.
The Dean of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Institute for Hajj and Umrah Research, Dr. Sami bin Yasin Barahmain, defined the areas of cooperation. These include the delivery of scientific, applied, and technical research and conducting advisory studies in the field of Hajj and Umrah, Two Holy Mosques and Holy Sites. The agreements include also providing works, studies, consultation, training, and other tasks within the institute's scope of work. The agreements also cover providing highly qualified consultants and specialists, and harnessing scientific research and consultation in the initiatives and work projects of the signing parties relevant to pilgrims and the two holy cities services.
