Umm Al-Qura University Hosts the Coordination Forum of the Arabic Literature Colleges

This morning, under the auspices of His Excellency the UQU President, Prof. Abdullah Bafail, the coordination forum for the Deans of the Colleges of Arts among the members of the Association of Arab Universities, was launched. The forum is organized by the College of Arabic Language and Literature, and will discuss the outcomes of the previous forum, assess the level of achievement, and set the agendas of the coming forum.

The Dean of the College of Arabic Language and Literature, Dr. Yusuf Al-Salmi, conveyed the greetings of the UQU President to the delegation of the deans of the colleges of arts from the different Arab universities. He expressed the university's gratitude for hosting the coordination forum to study the association's work and its strategic plans, which include highlighting the role of the colleges of arts in the Arab universities in promoting and disseminating Arabic literature.

Prof. Khamisi Hamaidi, Assistant Secretary-General of the Union of the Colleges of Arts Associations, and a member of the Union of Arab Universities, said the association supports 23 unions interested in the Arabic language and a number of scholarly councils related to Arabic literature. This is to improve and guarantee the quality of the published content of Arabic literature. He added that the association has agreed with several scientific bodies to support Arabic journals, and to disseminate research in Arabic in the most influential scholarly publications, in such a manner that will contribute to enriching Arabic literature content.

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Bani Domi, the Dean of the College of Arts, Yarmouk University, confirmed the importance of building bridges of cooperation between the Arab colleges to share aspirations, visions, and developmental ideas. This will contribute to upgrading the standards of academic quality in the Arabic language programs in the universities, and to preparing an Arab generation well versed in the rules of the Arabic language as well as its literature.
