On Wednesday, 22 Jumada Al-Thani, 1440 A.H., Umm Al-Qura University held a special meeting on the "100 Opportunities" initiative to explore the diverse opportunities available for the youth of Makkah region in the areas of technology, manufacturing, tourism, and recreation; this was in addition to a package of business opportunities that are essentially based on the comparative advantage that the region enjoys, including social entrepreneurship.
During the meeting, the financing mechanisms of projects in the form of free-of-interest loans, amounting to SR 300,000, were discussed, along with a presentation of some methods of obtaining them. This aimed at enabling entrepreneurs to start their business correctly, using the available logistics services.
This meeting comes within the framework of achieving the vision of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for 2030, and keeping pace with the vision of the Makkah Region, which aims at supporting the youth, who are considered the real assets and essential elements in the sustainable development of this nation. The objectives involve the implementation of pioneering projects and programs designed to boost the spirit of entrepreneurship and taking initiatives. It is noteworthy to mention that the Board of Directors of the initiatives that have been adopted for the region's youth have launched the second version of the "100 Opportunities" initiative, in partnership with the Small and Medium Enterprises Authority.
