Umm Al-Qura University, represented by the team of the empowerment plan "Tamkeen 2030", will organize tomorrow, Monday, an interactive workshop entitled, 'Together for Empowerment'. The workshop will be held in the presence of His Excellency the President of Umm Al-Qura University, Prof. Abdullah Bafail, vice presidents of the university, deans of the colleges, and the affiliates of the university, at King Abdulaziz Hall in Al-Abdiyyah and at Al-Jawhara Hall in Al-Zahir.
The workshop aims at learning the visions and aspirations of the academic staff members, employees and students for the coming five years. It will tackle the concept and importance of strategic planning. Moreover, previous strategic plans will be displayed. This strategic plan differs from previous plans as it involves the participation of all the affiliates of the university, and will be followed up by the Strategic Planning Administration Office. Several themes will be discussed during this workshop, such as learning, teaching, scientific research, postgraduate studies, community responsibility, self financing and investment, technical and leadership development, and quality assurance. Open questions will be posed and attendants will be asked to record their response concerning:
- Suggesting a vision and a mission for the university.
- Is there any particular initiative that you desire to carry out in the university?
It is worth mentioning that about 4600 persons have registered to attend the workshop. These attendees will discuss the challenges and future of Umm Al-Qura University during the coming five years.
