More than three thousand antiques are on display at Umm Al-Qura University Museum at Al-Aziziyyah. The museum opened its gates, for the first time, for the community in Mecca, school students, pilgrims, and visitors of the Holy Mosque.

Dr. Fahd Al-Maliki, the General Supervisor of the Museum Administration, stressed that the university museum seeks to inform people about Mecca, its scientific culture, human values, and the great care that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia pays to the Two Holy Mosques and the Sacred Sites.

Dr. Al-Maliki asked those who wish to visit the museum to access the visitors’ e-portal through the Museum Administration website, and register their data. He indicated that the museum has been prepared and will be developed according to the directions of His Excellency the President of Umm Al-Qura University, Prof. Abdullah Bafail.

The Museum Administration has witnessed many visits from the different governmental bodies in Mecca and university and school students, who became acquainted with the antiquities of the museum which include antiques and currencies from the Umayyad Era till the modern time. The age of some of these antiquities is more than a thousand years. Additionally, extraordinary pictures are on display that show the urban renaissance of the Two Holy Mosques, the Sacred Sites, Mecca houses and their cultural legacy.
