Three Electronic Applications Win the Entrepreneurs Challenge Competition Awards for Bin Laden Chair

The activities of the Entrepreneurs Challenge Competition were concluded on Sunday, 28 Jumada Al-Awwal, 1440 A.H. They were organized by Al-Muallim Muhammad Bin Laden Chair for Creativity and Entrepreneurship at Umm Al-Qura University. His Excellency the Dean of Scientific Research, Dr. Abdul-Rahman Al-Ahdal, the Vice Dean for Scientific Chairs, Dr. Abdulilah Al-Ghamidi and the Chair Professor, Dr. Mahmud Falatah attended the activity that was held at the headquarters of Wadi Makkah Technology Company.

The three winners were chosen from among 54 teams who entered the competition, which were eliminated to 13 teams, then to six teams. Finally, they were eliminated to three teams. The White Hat team was awarded first place with their project to fight sexual harassment of women through education and interactive training. Second place was awarded to the MAsquare project, which is an electronic platform that connects students who are searching for part-time work with small and medium enterprises. Third place was awarded to the Ruwwad team, whose project aims to provide entertaining scientific content for the young through a specialized electronic platform.

Dr. Mahmud Falatah pointed out that the competition falls within the programs and goals of the chair, which seeks to contribute to spreading the culture of creativity and entrepreneurship and producing scientific research in the field of innovation, in addition to developing specialized researchers who are interested in this sector. He added that conducting intensive workshops acquainted participants with how to generate ideas, develop commercial work models, conduct market research, go out into the market, and pitch to investors. The competition took place in collaboration with a business incubator at Wadi Makkah Company.
