The Minister of Communication and Information Technology, Eng. Abdullah Al-Sawaha, visited the headquarters of Wadi Makkah Technology Company. He was received by the UQU Vice President for Development and Entrepreneurship and Vice Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Wadi Makkah, Dr. Hani bin Uthman Ghazi, and the CEO of Wadi Makkah Technology Company, Dr. Faisal Al-Alaf.
He listened to a detailed explanation of the structure of the Company and its distinctive location, which is directly linked to the Holy Sites. Next, the Minister watched a visual presentation about the history of Wadi Makkah and the services provided by the Company and its branches, including taking on and accelerating entrepreneurship.
The UQU Vice President for Development and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Hani bin Uthman Ghazi, stressed the Company's keenness to be the investment arm of UQU to contribute significantly to the development of the knowledge economy. Such a development depends on partnerships between educational and research institutions with the business and investment sector, on commercial bases, by investing in joint projects to hone expertise and provide practical experience for the University students, instructors and entrepreneurs, in accordance with the National Transformation Plan 2020 and the vision of the Kingdom for the year 2030 A.C.
Dr. Al-Alaf reviewed the vision and mission of the Company, and its future objectives and achievements in taking on the entrepreneurship, in addition to its partnerships with the public and private sectors.
After that, the Minister toured the different facilities of Wadi Makkah Company, and learned about the products of its subsidiaries and its supported digital platforms. He praised the Company's experience, stressing that the Company has a comparative advantage due to its unique location and the services it provides to the pilgrims.
