Deanship of Student Affairs Launches the Student Council for 44 Clubs

Deanship of Student Affairs at Umm Al-Qura University launches the Student Clubs Council for the academic year 1439\1440 A.H. The Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Amr bin Taha Al-Saqqaf, asserted that the goal of these clubs is to show their keenness to listen to the views of the students concerning the services offered by the Deanship, in addition to encouraging their active participation in forming a vision for the extracurricular activities undertaken by the Deanship, and for the Student Council. The Student Council is composed of representatives from 44 student clubs in Shari`ah-related sciences, medicine, engineering, science, creativity, innovation, cultural fields and scout.

The Dean of Students Affairs, Dr. Amr Al-Saqqf, said, "The Student Council is part of the Deanship's strategic plan and promotes the values that the Deanship seeks to foster among the student community." He stressed that the goal of establishing the Student Council, which comprises representatives from Student Clubs in which more than four thousand students participate, is to develop a comprehensive database about student needs and level of their satisfaction about the services and activities offered by the Deanship. It also aims at discovering and creating their talents.

The Vice-Dean of Student Affairs for Activities and Training, Dr. Khulud bint Muhammad Abulnaja, headed the first meeting of the Student Council at the female section, which was held at the student training hall at the Deanship of Student Affairs at Al-Zahir University Campus. She praised the efforts of the female students who participate in student programs and activities, and their role in developing and upgrading these programs. She pointed out that the Student Club Council goes in line with the future vision of the Deanship, which is also in line with the strategic plan of the University.
