Launching Ceremony of Scouts Club Programs 1437/1438H

Umm Al-Qura University Scouts Club has held a launching ceremony of its programs which have included the domains of science, health, scouting and sport and have aimed at serving students and all society segments to achieve the scout motto of community service and development. The ceremony was held on Wednesday 5th Muharram 1438H at 8-10 pminside the tent of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Institute for Hajj and Umrah Research, Azizyah Campus. On top of the attendees have been Dr. Amr bin Taha Al Saqqaf, Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Abdul Khaliq Dawlah, Dean of Deanship of E-learning and Distance Education, Dr. Adel Ba Naema, the Dean of Arabic Language Institute for non-native speakers and the spokesman of the University, Dr. Talal Al- Mathni, Vice-Dean of Students Affairs, and Dr. Hamdan Al-Harbi, Vice-Dean of Students Affairs for Student Services.

The ceremony has started with a breathtaking Qur’an recitation by Scout/ Salem Al-Twerqy. Then, a creative scout marching has been performed and followed by a presentation on the Club’s Honour and Leadership Councils.

Leader/ Muhammad Yamani, First Leader of the Scouts Club, has then given a speech to thank and appreciate the Deanship’s never-ending support for the Club. He also has clarified that he would do his best to fulfill the Club’s vision, mission and objectives. After the speech, Abdul-Aziz Al-Dhiaby, a poet and scout, has read a marvelous poem to welcome the attendees. This has been followed by a comic scene entitled “Begging as a Negative Social Phenomenon.”

At the end of the ceremony, the Dean of Student Affairs has praised the show, noting that it has been a promising beginning for the Scouts Club. He also has expressed his appreciation of the scouts’ fruitful efforts.

On this occasion, the Dean of Student Affairs expresses his sincere thanks and appreciation to HE UQU President Dr. Bakri Bin Maatouq Assas and to Dr. Abdul-Aziz bin Rashad Al-Srouji for their continuous support for all the activities of Student Affairs Deanship.
