UQU Medical Colleges Celebrate Obtainment of the Academic Accreditation

The Colleges of Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmacy at Umm Al-Qura University organized a celebration at their headquarters in the university campus at Abdiya on the occasion of getting the international accreditation for their programs from the German Accreditation Agency of Health and Social Sciences (AHPGS) leading the accredited programs of the university to reach 27 programs. The celebration was attended by UQU President Dr. Bakri Bin M'atoog Bin Bakri Assas, the UQU Vice President for Academic Development and Community Service, Dr. Hani bin Othman Ghazi, the Dean of University Development and Quality Dr. Mohammed Thabit, the Dean of the College of Medicine, Dr. Anamr Nassir, the Dean of the College of Pharmacy Dr. Ahmad Omar Ahmad Babalghith, the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Dr. Mohamed bin Mustafa Biary, and the Vice Deans and Heads of the Departments of these colleges.  

 

Meanwhile, Dr. Hani handed out accreditation reports to the three colleges as the first colleges at the level of the Kingdom to obtain such academic accreditation. Whilst, the UQU President honored these colleges with the academic accreditation shields and certificates.

 

On this occasion, the UQU President D. Assas extended his thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz, the Crown Prince and the Deputy Crown Prince for the generous support devoted to the education march in our blessed country. " Thanks to Allah in the first place and then to the support attached by the rulers to the university for this achievements, he expounded. He also credited these achievements to the  continuous directives of the Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and  the Emir of Makkah Prince Khalid Al-Faisal and the permanent support and the close follow up of the Minister of Education Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Al-Iesa, the thing which has had a positive impact on the advancement of the educational and Research tracks of the university. He added that the university has many achievements in the scientific fields, international contests, patents and scientific innovations.   

 

Further, he said obtaining of the international accreditation by these colleges comes within the developmental steps adopted by the university in all its scientific colleges and departments to upgrade their educational and  research level, in addition to their community contribution in accordance with the standards of the programs of the most prominent universities at the global level. He extended his thanks to all those who have contributed to these achievements.

 

For his part, Dr. Hani Ghazi congratulated the medical colleges  and  said that the accreditation obtained by these three colleges for their academic programs is based on the plan set by the Vice Presidency for Academic Development and Community Service for all the colleges of the university to meet standards of academic accreditation. He lauded the fruitfull cooperation of the Deans of these College sand their Vice Deans the thing which resulted in obtaining these accreditations.  

 

Within the same context, the Dean of the University Development and Quality, Dr. Mohamed Thabit said receiving  these accreditation certificates comes within the ambitious plan set by the University Vice Presidency for Academic Accreditation and Community Service and the Deanship of University Development and Quality to have all the programs of the university obtaining the academic accreditation within two years.  

 

On their part, the Deans of the Medical Colleges expressed their thanks and appreciation to the UQU President, UQU Vice President for Academic Development and Community Service, the Dean of the University Development and Quality and Accreditation team for the efforts they have exerted to reach these achievements. They prayed to Allah to crown these efforts with the success for the benefit of the university students.
