Umm Al-Qura University and the Arabic Language Academy Conclude a Memorandum of Cooperation

Umm Al-Qura University have recently concluded a memorandum of cooperation with the Arabic Language Academy in Makkah to conduct scientific and technical consulting studies and community services in a number of scientific fields, in order to serve scientific research and the sciences of the Arabic language.

The memorandum of cooperation was signed by His Excellency Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, President of Umm Al-Qura University, and His Excellency Prof. Sheikh Saleh bin Abdullah bin Humaid, Chairman of the Arabic Language Academy's Board of Trustees in Makkah and a member of the Council of Senior Scholars and Chancellor at the Royal Court, in King Abdul Aziz Historical Hall at the University City in Al-Abdiyyah.

His Excellency the President of the University blessed this step, which is concerned with scientific research related to the Arabic language, and the qualification of efficient linguistic cadres. He also expressed his appreciation for the support given by the wise leadership (may Allah safeguard it) to the educational and research process offered by the University, in order to contribute to the service of the society and the development of its knowledge.

The agreement reflects the University's keenness to cooperate with the Arabic Language Academy to introduce Arabic language ethics and rules, and raise its level of importance. The two parties of the agreement seek to qualify specialized scientific cadres in the field of the Arabic language, conduct training courses in the field of language and media, and teach Arabic Language using the curricula of the Sibawih Institute. In addition, they seek to further the joint cooperation between the University and the Academy in terms of authorship, definition of Arabic rules, translation and printing, as well as the convening of conferences and the use of self-resources, to achieve the objectives of the agreement.
