Dr. Sarah bint Omar Al-Khuly, UQU Vice-President for Female Student Affairs, attended a ceremony organized by the College of Social Sciences to honor His Excellency Dr. Muhammad ibn Ahmad Basaqr on the occasion of the end of his deanship at the College of Social Sciences. The event took place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, 6 Rabi` Al-Awwal, 1440 A.H. in the presence of Dr. Khulud bint Abdullah Al-Thabity, Vice-Dean of the College of Social Sciences. A number of vice-deans and faculty members also attended the ceremony, which was held in Al-Jafaly Hall (2) at Al-Zahir campus, female students’ section and was live streamed from the male section of the University City.
The ceremony started with a recitation of the Noble Qur'an, followed by a speech by Dr. Adnan ibn Nury Al-Harby, Dean of the College of Social Sciences, who commended the efforts made by Dr. Muhammad ibn Ahmad Basaqr during his deanship at the College of Social Sciences. He expressed appreciation of the distinguished role he played and the achievements he made in the service of the educational process at Umm Al-Qura, and he wished him further success in his future career.
Next, Dr. Basaqr extended his thanks to Dr. Al-Harby and all the staff in the College of Social Sciences, wishing success to everyone.
Dr. Khulud bint Abdullah Al-Thabity also thanked Dr. Basaqr for his productive achievements during all phases of his work at the College.
Words of recognition and acknowledgment were then delivered by several faculty members. First Dr. Mahasin Abu Mansur, Ex-Vice Dean of the College of Social Sciences, offered a word of appreciation to Dr. Basaqr. This was followed by a few words from Dr. Ramzi ibn Muhammad Al-Zahrany on behalf of the College’s academic staff. Prof. Khulud Jaha, Assistant Director of the Department of Social Sciences, then offered a few words on behalf of the College’s female personnel. Finally, a few words of thanks were offered by the President of the Student Council, Ru’ia Tambusi, on behalf of the university’s female students.
To conclude the event, Dr. Basaqr was presented with gifts and the shield of appreciation from the College in honor of his contributions.
