Vice President for Academic Development Checks on Readiness of Al-Qunfudhah College of Computer for the Academic Accreditation

UQU Vice President for Academic Development and Community Service, Dr. Hany bin Othman Ghazi paid an inspection visit to Al-Qunfudhah College of Computer on Wednesday Dhul-Hijjah 27, 1437 H. He was accompanied by the Dean of Development and Quality Dr. Mohamed Ja'afar Thabit, the Vice Dean of IT for e-Transactions, Dr. Atef al-Hejeili and the University Accreditation Team. The visit aimed at checking on readiness of the College in preparation for the visit of the American International Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) during next November, and to ensuring that the college has met all the requirements of the International Academic Accreditation. 
 


Directly upon their arrival, Dr. Hani and his entourage met with the Dean of Al-Qunfudhah College of Computer, Dr. Yasin Al-Zobaidi, the Faculty Members and a number of students, after that they inspected the computer labs, study hall and the facilities of the college.  

 
 
Meanwhile, Dr. Hani revealed that Al-Qunfudhah College of Computer has completed all the requirements of  ABET in the field computer sciences and said that getting this accreditation is credited to the interest and directives of  UQU President Dr. Bakri Assas to have all the colleges of the university obtaining the international academic accreditation.  


 
He added that the international academic accreditation is an international recognition of the quality of the university programs an outputs and that its graduates can continue their postgraduate studies at any international university. He indicated that the university has achieved academic accreditation for 27 programs in 10 colleges, whilst receiving the academic accreditation by Al-Qunfudhah and Jamoum Colleges of Computer Sciences will be the first at the level of the university branches.
