UQU Participates in the Istanbul International Book Fair

Umm Al-Qura University is participating in the 37th Istanbul International Book Fair, being held from November 10 to 18, 2018. The University participated in this book fair to display its published scientific material, a group of the publications of the scientific chairs and journals, and to demonstrate the prominent role played by the university in the fields of scientific research and revival of Islamic heritage.

The Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in Turkey, Eng. Walid bin Abdul-Karim Al-Khariji, inaugurated the Saudi pavilion at the Istanbul International Book Fair. His Excellency the Saudi Cultural Attaché in Turkey, Dr. Ali Al-Barak, was informed about exhibited items, books, and brochures about the Kingdom that cast light on its past and future.

His Excellency the ambassador received a gift on behalf of Umm Al-Qura University, which was a book entitled 'Makkah Al-Mukarramah Min Al-Sama' [Makkah Al-Mukarramah is a Gift from Heaven], a publication of the university. Yasir bin Sayf Al-Sharif presented it to His Excellency.

The participant delegate appreciated the care and support of his Excellency the President of Umm Al-Qura University, Prof. Abdullah Omar Bafail, that allows them to participate in such international platforms that contribute to highlighting the scientific publications of the university and publishing them internationally. He also praised the efforts of the Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Thamir bin Himdan Al-Harbi, and his continual support for the activities of the Permanent Committee for Exhibitions.
