The UQU Vice President for Development and Entrepreneurship Dr. Hani bin Osman Ghazi launched the first workshop organized by the Deanship of Development and Quality entitled; "Registration Processes in the Saudi Qualifications Framework (SAQF)". The workshop which was held at the deanship headquarters at the university campus in Abdyia for males and Al-Jawhara Hall for females witnessed participation of about 70 male and female academics.
Meanwhile, Dr. Hani Ghazi valued the support and directives of the UQU President Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail to obtain the national institutional accreditation and the International accreditation for the university programs in an urgent manner. He said the workshop was held within the preparations to complete the requirements of the institutional accreditation and the registration in the Saudi National Center for Qualifications (SAQF), which has become a mandatory prerequisite for the institutions looking to obtain the institutional and program accreditation.
He said the university endeavors to obtain the national institutional and program accreditations approved by the National Center for Academic Accreditation and Evaluation for some if its programs by the end of this academic year 1439/1440 A.H. He added that the university includes about 7 thousand male and females academic staff and employees and more than 110 thousand male and female students at its main campus in Makkah and its branches in Jamoum, Al-Qunfudhah, Al-Lith and Adhm provinces thus requiring cooperation of everyone in the colleges, supportive deanships and the relevant departments in implementing standards of the institutional accreditation according to the strategic plan set in this regard.
For his part, the Dean of Development and Quality Dr. Muhammad Ja`afar Thabit said the Deanship embarked on providing qualification for a number of the academic staff through the courses of registration processes in the Saudi Qualification Framework describing this workshop as coming within the agenda of his deanship to achieve requirements of the institutional accreditation. He then praised the support of the UQU President and the close follow up, lasting keenness and directives of the UQU Vice President for Development and Entrepreneurship
