Umm Al-Qura University will participate in the Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF), which is being held from October 31, 2018 until November 10, 2018, to present its published scientific material and highlight the university's significant role in the fields of scientific research, revival of Islamic heritage, research publications, and scientific journals.   

The Saudi Consul in the United Arab Emirates, Mr. Abdul-Hadi bin Muhammad Al-Shafi, launched the university pavilion in the presence of the Saudi Cultural Attaché, Dr. Rashid Al-Ghayyad.  The members of the UQU delegation – headed by the Vice Dean of Scientific Research for Quality, Development, and Academic Accreditation Dr. Hanady Muhammad Bihairi, and including Mrs. Lena bint Abdulaziz Al-Manee and Mrs. Moa bint Saeed Al-Ghamdy – made a presentation about the participation of the university in the international book fairs.

The Ruler of Sharjah, H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al-Qassimi, received a gift of the “Atlas Makkah” book, a notable publication of Umm Al-Qura University.

The members of the exhibition committee appreciated the eagerness of UQU President, Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, to participate in such international scientific forums, which contribute to highlighting the university's scientific contribution. They also praised the enthusiasm of UQU Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Thamir bin Hamdan Al-Harby.
