On behalf of Dr. Sarah bint Omar Al-Khuly, UQU Vice-President for Female Students Affairs, Dr. Ibtisam bint Balqasim Al-Qarni, Vice-Dean of Shari`ah College for Educational and Development Affairs and Advisor to the Vice-President for Female Students Affairs, participated in the Program "Best Nation", which was organized by the Higher Institute for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice in cooperation with the College of Da`wah and Fundamentals of Religion and the University Vice-Presidency for Voluntary Research. Attendees included Dr. Iman bint `Abdul-Rahman Al-Maghraby, Vice-Dean of the Higher Institute for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice; Dr. Sanaa bint `Abdul-Rahim Halawany, Deputy Head of the Hisbah Department; Dr. Amany bint Hamad Al-Shu`aiby, Deputy Head of the Training Courses Department; and several vice-deans, heads of departments, and University affiliates. The event was held on Thursday 16 Safar, 1440 A.H. at Juffaly Hall in Al-Zahir, at the female students’ section.
The program started by welcoming the attendees, followed by a message from Dr. Ibtisam bint Balqasim Al-Qarni, Vice-Dean of Shari`ah College for Educational and Development Affairs and Advisor to Vice-President for Female Students Affairs, on behalf of Dr. Sarah Al-Khuly, UQU Vice-President for Female Students Affairs. In her message, she clarified the importance of volunteers in achieving the Da`wah goals, which will lead the Islamic nation to be the best nation through enjoining good and forbidding evil.
Moreover, she expressed profound gratitude towards His Excellency Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, President of Umm Al-Qura University (UQU), for his support and care concerning all the Da`wah-related, scientific, and research programs. She also praised all the participants in that blessed program.
On the same issue, Dr. Iman bint `Abdul-Rahman Al-Maghraby, Vice-Dean of the Higher Institute for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, stressed the importance of the community's responsibility towards the Islamic nation, through exerting and joining efforts to make it the best nation in a way that will be reflected in the lives of individuals and society as a whole.
"The Best Nation" Program then proceeded with Dr. Safiyyah Al-Qarny shedding light on the meaning of the noble Qur'anic verse: (Indeed, this Qur'an guides to that which is most suitable…) [Al-Israa:9]. Dr. Safiyyah’s presentation was followed by various contributions: Dr. Nahlah Al-Rifa`y discussing "Deeds Elevating Us"; Dr. Alaa Kinkar’s "Obstacles in the Way of being the Best"; Dr. Batool Barnawi’s "3 by 10"; and student `Abir Al-Tuwaijri's "Nibras".
Following the research contributions, a training course entitled "Be Good" began with trainer Yusra Muhammad Thany. At the end of the event, all participants were honored and given souvenirs and honorary certificates in appreciation for their fruitful efforts in that blessed meeting.
