The University President, Dr Bakri ibn Ma’atuq A’asas personally and on behalf of the University staff extended congratulations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman ibn Abdul-Aziz Al Saud, his royal highness the Heir Apparent and the royal family and the Saudi people on the occasion of the eighty sixth National Day. On this occasion, Dr. Bakri said “marking this dear national occasion which coincides with the first day of the seventh hijri month corresponding to September 23^rd embodies the national unity. During that occasion, we along with our children remember what the King Abdul-Aziz achieved to unify this country: “the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia”.

He went on to add “marking this occasion reflects the reality which the Kingdom lives since King Abdul-Aziz unified it with his sons following in his footsteps until the reign of King Salaman ibn Abdul-Aziz Al-Saud. This made its people like a single body in real not in words raising the banner of unification as a lifestyle. Such a unity has set an example among many of the peoples of the world. The Kingdom has grown into a strong, pivotal state in terms of the process of the world decision-making not only for its being the biggest world oil exporting state or as a leader for the Islamic world but also for the prudence and brinksmanship with which our leadership manages all the issues, international or regional. Also, the Kingdom has gained the trust of the world’s governments and the international organizations and institutions, with all their attitudes and leaning included. This in turn placed it into the world status it deserves.”

Dr. Bakri went on to stress that as a people we bear religious, national and moral responsibilities that we have to be aware of towards our country. At the same time, he called on us all to be loyal to our country which deserves to exert every effort for keeping its integrity and welfare. We should also pledge allegiance to our prudent leadership praying Allah to support them against whoever harbors ill intentions for the Kingdom’s security. They also spare no effort for elevating our country. And the welfare if its citizens.
