The Deanship of Graduate Studies at Umm Al-Qura University (UQU) held a series of meetings with the graduate studies program coordinators in the scientific colleges. This aimed to discuss postgraduate programs entries in Model 101 related to updating the existing programs and developing new programs in line with the Saudi Vision 2030. The meetings witnessed the attendance of Dr. Saeed Al-Harethy, the Dean, in addition to the members of the Graduate Studies Programs Committee at the Deanship’s meeting room in the University City in Al-Abediyah.

In this context, Dr. Saeed Al-Harethy appreciated the support and guidance provided by Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafil, UQU President, to the Deanship and its system that corresponded to the Saudi Vision 2030. Moreover, he confirmed that work was underway to develop graduate programs in cooperation with UQU colleges and institutes. He added that such programs aimed to meet labor market needs in a number of specific programs, such as health, engineering, as well as the administrative aspects. He also noted that the programs would qualify applicants to be admitted to the Higher Diploma, Professional Executive MBA, as well as the academic programs of Master’s and PhD, starting from the next academic year 1440/1441H.

Within the same vein, Dr. Al-Harethy said that the Deanship of Graduate Studies was seeking to manage the postgraduate programs via planning, organization and development according to regulations. He added that this would serve the individual, develop the community, prepare specialized scientific and professional efficiencies to become highly qualified in different knowledge domains, and keep pace with the rapid progress of science and technology towards innovation and development of scientific research. Besides, he pointed out to the follow-up and concern provided by Dr. Thamer bin Hemdan Al-Harby, UQU Vice President for Graduate Studies. He also hailed the cooperation of the College Coordinators and the efforts exerted by the Graduate Studies Programs Committee members and the Deanship’s affiliates.
