Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafil, President of Umm Al-Qura University (UQU), is inaugurating the campaign entitled, "Be Kind to Parents" on Sunday morning. The campaign is organized by the College of Da’wah (Islamic Call) and Fundamentals of Religion on 5-9th Safar 1440H at the College’s premises in the Abediyah-based University City.

In this regard, Dr. Isa Al-Musallamy, Vice-Dean of the College of Da’wah (Islamic Call) and Fundamentals of Religion and Supervisor of its Cultural Activity, said that "Be Kind to Parents" was one of the awareness and guidance campaigns organized by the College. He added that it carried several awareness messages about concern with parents.

In the same context, Dr. Al-Musallamy said that the significance of establishing such campaigns in the university lied in their ideal values and ethics, as they were reminiscent of the issue of righteousness towards parents according to the Qur’an and Sunnah. He also hailed the efforts of Dr. Raed bin Fouad Bajoury, Supervisor of the Campaign, and all his team.

In turn, Dr. Raed Bajoury explained that this campaign aimed at instilling the correct concept of righteousness towards parents deep within the hearts of children, encouraging them to apply it in reality. He added that it also aimed to guide children to the right methods and amicable means, which ensured understanding with their parents and solved the dilemmas they might encounter. He also said that the campaign was concerned with the activation of the joint roles of academic institutions and parents. Moreover, the campaign targeted the enlightenment of parents with the methods to create ideal relations with children. Such relations would contribute to strengthen family bonds, encourage children to apply the right concept of righteousness and kindness towards parents, and remind them of its value.
