UQU President Receives Academic Accreditation Certificates of the Medical Colleges

President of Umm Al Qura University Dr. Bakri Bin M'atoog Bin Bakri Assas received at his office in the university campus in Abdyia the certificates of the international academic accreditation from the Deans of the medical colleges in the university. These certificates were obtained recently by the colleges of Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy from the German Accreditation Agency of Health and Social Sciences (AHPGS) for four  academic programs including; the bachelor degree of the  medicine and surgery program of the college of medicine, the medicine and surgery program of the College of Dentistry and the bachelor degree of the programs of  B Pharm and Pharm D of the College of Pharmacy. The meeting was attended by the UQU Vice President for Academic Development and Community Service, Dr. Hani bin Othman Ghazi and the Dean of University Development and Quality Dr. Mohammed Thabit. 

 

Meanwhile, Dr. Assas said these colleges have obtained the academic accreditation because of their highly-qualified teaching staff, medical equipment  and for adopting teaching and training programs in accordance with the highest international standards. He went on to add that the university will carry on its work though the Vice-Presidency for Academic Development and Community Service  to achieve standards of academic accreditation for other colleges through its set plan to make the colleges programs meet standards of  the international academic accreditation. He added that thanks to Allah in the first place for these achievements and then to the unlimited support offered and still to the university by the  Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud, May Allah Protect Him, the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdul-Aziz, the Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and the follow up of the Minister of Education Dr. Ahmed bin Mohamed Al-Iesa to upgrade the educational environment in line with the Kingdom Vision 2030. He also extended his thanks to UQU Vice President for Academic Development and Community Service Dr. Hani bin Othman Ghazi and all staff of the Vice Presidency for Academic Development and the Deanship of Academic Development for the efforts undertaken by them. 


For his part, Dr. Hani said that the accreditation obtained by these three colleges for their academic programs is based on the plan set by the Vice Presidency for all the colleges of the university to meet standards of academic accreditation with the follow up of the Deanship of University Development and Quality. He lauded the close follow up and attention of UQU President Dr. Bakri Assas and his keenness to see all the university colleges obtaining the academic accreditation similar to the international colleges. He lauded the efforts exerted by the Deanship of University Development and Quality represented by  its Dean Dr. Mohamed Thabit and the team of consultants. He also praised the Deans, Heads of the Departments and the affiliates of the colleges who worked as one team to meet such standards.  

Within the same context, the Dean of the University Development and Quality, Dr. Mohamed Thabit said the team of the German Accreditation Agency in Health and Social Sciences (AHPGS)  conducted several visits to these colleges and met with their deans, heads of departments and took note of all their remarks, opinions and programs after that these colleges were assessed based on the academic standards set by this agency for its programs.

 
He lauded the support and attention paid by the UQU President, Dr. Assas, the UQU Vice-President for Academic Development. Dr. Hani Ghazi, the Vice Deans and the team of consultants to all stages of academic accreditation in the said colleges.
