The Umm Al-Qura University President, Dr Bakri in Ma’atuq A’asas opens “Promising Start” Symposium for the freshmen. The opening took place On Monday, September 20th, 2016, at the King Saud Hall of the Uuniveristy town in Albidiah. Present were the University Educational Affairs Vice Dean, Dr. Abdul-Aziz ibn Rashid Sruji; Student Affairs Dean, Dr. Amr ibn Taha Alsaqaf, vice deans, college and supportive deanships deans.
Afterwards, Dr Bakri and his companions toured around the pavilions taking part at the Symposium. Such pavilions involved full range of services got the freshman in addition to the colleges taking part with their diverse specialties, supporting deanships, institutes and research centers. He was also briefed by the Student Affairs Dean about the service delivered throughout the events of the Symposium.
Having finished his tour, Dr Baqri said “it gives me pleasure to share my freshmen this Symposium organized by the Student Affairs Deanship. Such a Symposium constitutes an auspicious start for them as it provides them with a window to the Univeisty’s different departments, deanships and colleges. It similarly familiarizes them with the services the University provides in general and the Student Affairs Deanship in particular. He went on to add that the University prepared all its capabilities and equipment in terms of teaching cadres and buildings to create the appropriate educational environment for the students. He also touched upon the efforts exerted by the Student Affairs Deanship supervised by the University Educational Affairs Vice Dean, Dr. Abdul-Aziz ibn Rashid Sruji, Student Affairs Dean, Dr. Amr ibn Taha Alsaqaf, vice deans for holding such a symposium. He further lauded the support the University receives from its leadership for developing the educational environment at the University.
For his part, Dr. Amr, the Student Affairs dean, pointed out that the Symposium is held for the second year after the successes it made last year, which was entitled “different start”. He also added that it is to run through three days divided according to the colleges and studies. It aims at preparing the freshmen to the effect that they form adequate idea about the services delivered by the Univeristy and Student Affairs Deanship.
He further extended thanks to the University President for his support and encouragement; and for the Educational Affairs Vice Presidency, Dr. Abdul-Aziz ibn Rashid Sruji and the vice deanships: Talal ibn Masani, Dr. Said Halwani, Dr. Omar Sunbul, Dr. Hemdan Alharbi. and eh also thanked the Deanship’s work team for the efforts they made for preparing for this Symposium.
