Under the patronage and on behalf of HRH Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, Advisor to the Custodian of Two Holy Mosques and Emir of Makkah, Dr. Hisham bin Abdurrahman Al-Faleh, Deputy Emir of Makkah, attended the ceremony held by Umm Al-Qura University (UQU) to celebrate the 88th Saudi National Day on Thursday, 17th Muharram 1440H. The event witnessed the attendance of a lot of Meccan people at the Sports Stadium in the Abediyah-based University City. In this regard, Dr. Al-Faleh was warmly received by Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafil, UQU President, accompanied by UQU Vice Presidents and Deans.
It is worth mentioning that Dr. Sarah bint Omar Al-Khouly, UQU Vice President for Female Students Affairs, was present at the event and accompanied by Dr. Hala bint Saeed Al-Amoudy (Dean of the University Studies for Girls), Deanship Vice Deans, as well as a lot of staff members.
Upon the arrival of Dr. Hisham Al-Faleh, the Saudi Royal Anthem was played. Then, the ceremony started with a Quranic recitation followed by the speech of Prof. Bafil. During the speech, Prof. Bafil wished HRH King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud (the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques), HRH Prince Muhammad bin Salman (the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia), the Saudi Royal Family and all the Saudi people a happy 88th Saudi National Day.
This was followed by the shows. In other words, the ceremony was started by the launch of the classic cars, motorcycles and bicycles, the review of original Arabian horses. Afterwards, Dr. Saleh bin Abdullah Al-Fareeh and Mr. Fahd Al-Meatany, one of the most notable persons in Makkah, recited poems respectively. Then, a breathtaking operetta was performed.
The event ended with the Saudi songs of Arada with the participation of Dr. Hisham Al-Faleh and Prof. Abdullah Bafil.
