On behalf of the Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Emir of Makkah HRH Prince Khalid Al-Faisal bin Abdul-Aziz, the Undersecretary of Makkah Emirate for Development Dr. Hisham bin Abdul-Rahman Al-Faleh sponsored on Thursday  evening  Muharram 17, 1440 H the UQU celebration of the 88th National Day amid of a huge public presence including families who attended for the first time at the sport stadium in Abdyia. 

On the arrival of Dr. Al-Faleh to the celebration scene, the Saudi Anthem was played. Then, celebration started with a Quranic recitation to be followed by the speech of the UQU President Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail in which he extended his congratulations and blessings to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz Al-Saud, the Heir-apparent, the royal family and the noble Saudi people on this national occasion. 

He said; UQU celebrates a precious occasion reflecting the loyalty to the nation, which is the 88th anniversary of the unification of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by the leading founder King Abdul-Aziz bin Abdul-Rahman Al-Faisal Al-Saud who laid its foundations and unified its entity with his son following in his footsteps thus leading to the prosperity, development, stability of the nation and the melting unity of man with the land and place. 

He added that "We have the right in our national day to go through our glorious past and standing tall before our capabilities and achievements realized for the country with the determination and faithfulness of his sons since the era of the founder and unifier of the Kingdom King Abdulaziz bin Abdurrahman Al Saud and his righteous sons until the current prosperous reign of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, who managed to carry on this blessed march with his wisdom, statesmanship and farsightedness adopting firmness and determination in building his nation and achieving his citizens prosperity". 

He went on to add that: in this day, we recall our history looking to continue the march of our nation inspiring the vision of the builder of our modern renaissance the Crown prince, HRH Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense , the  engineer of the transformation, the maker of the vision and the prospector of the bright future of this country and its people.  
 

Concluding his speech, the UQU President extended his thanks and appreciation to the Advisor to the Custodian of Two Holy Mosques, Emir of Makkah Prince Khalid Al-Faisal for sponsoring this celebration and the UQU march, and to the Deputy Emir of Makkah HRH Prince Abdullah bin Bandar and to the Undersecretary of Makkah Emirate Dr. Hisham bin Abdul-Rahman Al-Faleh for his honorable presence in the scene of the celebration on behalf of Makkah Emir. He prayed Allah to perpetuate on this country its security, stability, and property under its wise leadership. 

After that, the march of the classic cars, motorcycles, and aerobics was launched. Then, two poems were recited one after the other by Dr. Saleh bin Abdullah Al-Firaih and Fahad Al-Mataani on this national occasion, which won the approbation of all.

Wrapping up the ceremony, the Undersecretary of Makkah Emirate for Development Dr. Hisham Al-Faleh and the UQU President Prof. Abdullah Bafail participated in the Saudi Parade.
