Under the patronage of Dr. Mohamed Abdullah Al-Maleki, dean of the University College in Al-Lith, the College organized a celebration on the occasion of the 88th National Day of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It was attended by Dr. Iskandar Hawsawi, dean of the College of Engineering and Computer; vice-deans of the colleges; heads of departments; and faculty members, students and employees. The celebration was held in the college theater.
The celebration kicked off with the royal anthem, and then a welcoming speech delivered by Saud Al-Jahni, a student from Media Department, and recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by Abdelrahman Al-Malki, a student from the English Language Department. Thereafter, the attendees saw a documentary entitled "March of the Glory” that presents the details of the opening of Riyadh, and the efforts of the Kingdom's kings to serve the state and citizens. Dr. Mohamed Al-Maleki delivered a speech in which he expressed his sincere congratulations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman- May Allah protect them- the royal family and the Saudi people. The dean expressed his feelings on this great day; the anniversary of the unification of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at the hands of the founder, His Majesty King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud- May Allah be merciful to him- who laid the foundation and entrenched the book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Prophet - peace be upon him – as a constitution and life approach. After that, his righteous sons- may Allah have mercy on them – took over the country, and then came the glorious era under the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul Aziz, and Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman - may Allah protect them. Al-Maleki, also, praised the achievements made by the Saudi state over time and its role in supporting the issues of Islam and peace, so, it has a prominent international position in global decision-making with its Islamic, political and economic weight. He pointed out that the love of the homeland requires all of us to participate actively in building its renaissance and preserve the property, wealth and gains, mentioning that university youth are the hope of the future, from whom the homeland awaits a lot of hard work, and to utilize the great potential provided to them to be the building blocks for the renaissance of the country and raise it according to the vision of the Kingdom 2030, praying to Allah the Almighty to repeat this great occasion to our country where it enjoys permanent prosperity, development and stability.
After that, two poems were delivered by Abdul-Fattah al-Osmani, a student from the Department of Arabic Language, and Khalid Al-Zuwailmi, a student from the Department of Physics, followed by a diverse cultural competition and valuable drawings, after which the photographs were taken on this occasion and the audience recorded their feelings towards the homeland on a mural dedicated to this purpose.
On the other hand, the University College in Al-Lith- Girls Section- organized the celebration of this great occasion in the activities hall of the main building for female students under the patronage of Dr. Iman Aqeel Al-Lahibi, vice-dean of the College. The celebration kicked off with the royal anthem, and then a welcoming speech and recitation of verses from the Holy Quran. After that, Dr. Iman delivered a speech expressing her feelings on this great day; the anniversary of the unification of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at the hands of the founder, His Majesty King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud- May Allah be merciful to him. She praised the efforts made by the state to provide all that would serve the welfare of citizens, referring to the achievements made by Saudi women under the support of the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, which contributed to the renaissance of the country in various fields. She encouraged continuing work towards realizing the vision of the Kingdom (2030), which made young people the nucleus of the productive society, and focused on education as one of the most important sectors on which the state depends on achieving its objectives. Moreover, Dr. Iman praised Saudi Arabia's efforts with regard to serving Islam and Muslims around the world, as well as the Kingdom's handling of many international issues, which emphasize the political weight and prestige it enjoys at the regional and international levels. She also valued the courageous efforts of soldiers in all military sectors, which had an impact on security and stability across the country.
Then a poem was recited, followed by a communal song and then a cultural competition. Afterwards, Dr. Iman inaugurated the sections participating in the celebration and honored the winning one according to votes. She also honored the female members of the committees organized the celebration.
