The President of Umm Al-Qura University Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail met during his inspection tour to the Jamoum University College with the students and a number of people and dignitaries of Jamoum province to listen to their demands. The meeting which took place in the lobby of Jamoum University College was attended by the UQU Vice President for Educational Affairs Dr. Abdul-Aziz bin Rashad Sorouji, UQU Vice President for Branches Dr. Abdul-Majid bin Saeed Al-Ghamdi, Supervisor General of Projects Department, Advisor to the UQU President Dr. Mohamed bin Wasil Al-Hazmi, Dean of Jamoum University College Dr. Tawfiq bin Ali Al-Sharif, Governor of Jamoum Mr. Omran Al-Zahrani, a number of officials of the government bodies in Jamoum and the officials of the Public Relations Department in the University.
At the commencement of the meeting, the UQU President welcomed people, dignitaries of Jamoum province and the students lauding the support attached by the wise leadership led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz, and the Heir Apparent, Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense HRH Prince Mohamed bin Salman bin Abdul-Aziz to the educational process and its research, academic, administrative and technical environment in such manner which contributed to localizing university education in a number of quality specializations meeting desires of the residents of the villages and provinces to help them serve their religion and nation. He also lauded the support provided by the Advisor to the Custodian of Two Holy Mosques, Emir of Makkah HRH Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, and the Deputy Emir of Makkah HRH Prince Abdullah bin Bandar bin Abdul-Aziz, for the different activities and programs of the university praising also the support of the Minister of Education Dr. Ahmed bin Mohamed Al-Issa to upgrade the educational environment in the university.
Meanwhile, Prof. Bafail said the university will create new specialties in line with the requirements of the labor market and the Kingdom Vision 2030 with the existence of the educational environment elements. "The objective of this visit is to boost positives and overcome negatives to upgrade high-quality university outcomes in line with the prominent status, the university endeavors to achieve". He elaborated.
After that, Prof. Bafail checked on the buildings of Jamoum University College in the males and females sections accompanied by the UQU Vice Presidents, the Dean of Jamoum University College, and the officials of the Departments of Projects, services, and utilities.
For his part, the Supervisor General of the Projects Department, Advisor to the UQU President Dr. Mohamed bin Wasil Al-Hazmi said the Projects Department has embarked recently on designing and implementing buildings Jamoum University College in the male and females sections that is about 21,700 square meters. He said the area allocated for male students is about 13,000 square meters and will accommodate 4,000 students. It will include 88 study halls, 16 labs, 2 medical clinics, 22 computer labs, 58 administrative offices, cafeteria, meeting hall and the other service utilities.
While the area allocated for female students is about 8,700 square meters and will accommodate 3000 students. It will include; 21 study halls, 10 computer labs, 8 labs of physics, chemistry and biology, educational studio, mosque medical clinic, cafeteria, theatre, administrative offices, meeting hall in addition to the previous extension connected to the new buildings.
Within the same vein, the Dean of Jamoum University College, Dr. Tawfiq Al-Sharif praised the keenness of the UQU President Prof. Abdulla Bafail to visit the college and closely inspect the educational environment. He said the college offers programs for females in the fields of computer, accounting, mathematics, media, social work, besides the scientific specialties, while the programs offered for males includes; computer, accounting, mathematics, Arabic language, Islamic studies, in addition to the scientific specialties. He added that the total number of students enrolled in the college is 3,100 students including; 1500 male students and 1600 female students.
