UQU President Heads Meeting of the Higher Committee for Institutional Accreditation

President of Umm Al-Qura University Prof. Abdullah Omar Bafail headed on Tuesday Dhul-Qe'dah 4, 1439 H corresponding to July 17, 2018 at his office at the university campus in Abdyia the meeting of the Higher Committee for the Institutional Accreditation in the presence of  the UQU Vice President for Development and Entrepreneurship Dr. Hani bin Osman Ghazi, UQU Vice President Dr. Yassir bin Suleiman Shoushou, UQU Vice President for Branches Dr. Abdul-Majid Al-Ghamdi and the Heads of the Committee. The meeting was set to check on workflow in the accreditation committees and colleges in the bid to obtaining the institutional accreditation by Umm Al-Qura University. 

 

At the commencement of the meeting, Dr. Hani welcomed the UQU President who serves also as the Chairman of the Committee, the members of the Committee, UQU Vice Presidents and Deans and the Heads of the Institutional Accreditation Standards Committees. He extended his thanks to the UQU President for his significant concern and close follow-up of the committee and for his noble support provided for the university's efforts dedicated to obtaining the institutional accreditation. He also reviewed the achievement made so far to obtain the institutional accreditation and underlined the commitment of the UQU vice Presidency for Development and Entrepreneurship and the Deanship of University Development and Quality to work diligently and abide by the schedule set to obtain the accreditation.     

 

Within the same vein, the Dean of University Development and Quality Dr. Mohamed Jaafar Thabit provided a report on the progress made in receiving the needed documents and reports for the standards committees and colleges to start writing the institutional report. He said the report will include also the challenges facing the accreditation committees and a proposal to overcoming them to abide by the schedule set by the Advisory Commission Council to obtain the institutional accreditation. 

 

After listening to the report and the following discussion, the UQU President Prof. Abdullah Bafail expressed his satisfaction with the work progress and urged the committees to carry on their work and intensify their efforts to achieve the goal and obtain the institutional accreditation. He also expressed his readiness to harness all the university capacities to support the committee's effort in obtaining the accreditation.
