Deputy Emir of Makkah HRH Prince Abdullah bin Bandar bin Abdul-Aziz received at the emirate's headquarters in Jeddah the UQU President who serves also as the Chairman of Board of Directors of Wadi Makkah Company Prof. Abdullah Omar Bafail, a number of UQU Vice Presidents and company members.   

At the beginning of the meeting, he listened to a presentation about the Saudi Startups Forum organized by the University represented by Wadi Makkah Company and its events that focused on the importance of training and giving the opportunity to the owners of the startups to showcase their companies before the investors  and venture capital funds besides the workshop held in the technical and entrepreneurship fields and the accompanying events including; discussion panels in several aspects relevant to investment.  

The forum was attended in its first-year by a large number of entrepreneurs and those interested in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship and witnessed the signing of agreements for 24 startups with investors and businesspersons including; 15 agreements for the benefit of the companies sponsored by Wadi Makkah Company. 

For his part, the UQU President praised the support attached by the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Heir Apparent to the educational process and its research and administrative environment. He also lauded the keenness of the Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Emir of Makkah HRH Khalid Al-Faisal and the Deputy Emir of Makkah HRH Prince Abdullah bin Bandar and their support provided for all the programs and events organized by the university.
