UQU President Heads Institutional Accreditation Supreme Committee Meeting

At the meeting room in his University-City-based office, Prof. Dr. Abdullah bin Omar Bafil, President of Umm Al-Qura University (UQU), headed the meeting of the Supreme Committee for Institutional Accreditation on Thursday, 23rd Ramadan 1439H. This was in the presence of UQU Vice-Presidents and Institutional Accreditation Standards Committee Heads.

At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Hani bin Othman Ghazy, UQU Vice-President for Development and Entrepreneurship, spoke about UQU President’s great concern with, and continuous follow up of, the progress of work regarding the steps taken by UQU to obtain the Institutional Accreditation. Then, he reviewed the achievements made during the past period. In other words, he stressed the compliance of the Vice-Presidency and the Deanship of University Development and Quality with hard work. This was in order to abide by the timetable set for the acquisition of the Accreditation.    

Afterwards, Dr. Muhammad Jaafar Thabit, Dean of University Development and Quality, presented a report about the progress in the receipt of documents and reports required by the Standards Committees and colleges to begin writing the institutional report. The report included the challenges faced by the accreditation committees and proposals to overcome them to comply with the timetable set by the Advisory Board for Institutional Accreditation acquisition.

In turn, Dr. Bafil expressed his content with the progress of work. He also urged the committee chairmen to resume work and intensify efforts to achieve the objective of Institutional Accreditation acquisition by UQU. He added that all resources should be harnessed to support the Committee's efforts to obtain the Institutional Accreditation. He also pointed out that UQU had been receiving support by the wise leadership (May Allah save it!) in order to be one of the distinguished universities.
