The President of Umm Al-Qura University Professor Abdullah Omar Bafail signed today Monday Ramadan 19, 1439 H corresponding to June 3, 2018, the funding agreement of the Quranic Guidance Chair with the representative of Al-Nabaa Endowment Foundation Dr. Mohamed bin Abdullah Al-Rabiah at the Grand Meetings hall at the UQU President's office in Abdyia. The meeting was attended by the UQU Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Dr. Thamir bin Hamdan Al-Harbi, the Dean of the College of D'awa and Islamic Theology Dr. Faisal Ghazawi, the Dean of Scientific Research Dr. Abdul-Rahman Al-Ahdal, the Supervisor of the Quranic Guidance Chair Dr. Yahiya Zamzami, the Vice Deans of the College of D'awa and Islamic Theology, the Vice Deans of Scientific Research and the Director of the Islamic Education Research Center in the Deanship of Scientific Research Dr. Abdul-Wahab bin Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Risini.
Meanwhile, Prof. Abdullah Bafail praised the role undertaken by Al-Nabaa Endowment Foundation in supporting research interested in the Quranic studies explaining that the University will save no effort in attaching the necessary concern to the creation of scientific chairs serving the Holy Quran and its sciences and the Purified Prophetic Sunnah and its sciences. He then urged turning the outcomes of such scientific chairs into creative ideas contributing to serving individuals, families and the community and wished everyone all success.
For his part, the Supervisor of the Chair Yahiya Zamzami made a detailed presentation about the chair's objectives and elements pointing out that the project includes setting up an specialized global encyclopedia in the field of Quranic guidance to be achieved through the students' PhD Theses in all universities of the world according to the international scholarship system, contributing to enriching scientific research in this field, making use of the distinctive figures in the international universities to serve the Quran, opening new horizons and linking Quranic guidance with the reality of the nation, selecting the outstanding PhD Students to achieve the scientific research besides selecting the outstanding supervisors in the partner universities in addition to the adherence to the specific time schedule set to achieve each scientific thesis and ensuring the intellectual property of the outcomes and results.
In turn, the representative of Al-Nabaa Endowment Foundation Dr. Mohamed Al-Rabiah extended his thanks to the UQU President for his support provided for the scientific chairs in general and the Quranic guidance chair in particular and wished success for everyone.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the UQU President and the representative of Al-Nabaa Endowment Foundation exchanged the memorial gifts.
