Vice-President for Educational Affairs Abdul-Aziz bin Rashad Al-Srouji on Sunday, Zul-Qaeda 21, 1437H reviewed Umm Al-Qura (UQU) mechanism of admission and registration for the year 1437/1438H. He was received by Dean of Admission and Registration Dr. Abdulmajeed bin Saeed Al Ghamdi and vice-deans in Al-Abdiyah.

During the meeting, Dr. Al Ghamdi briefed Vice-President about services provided by the deanship via its admission portal. Using the web portal, students can receive services, schedule appointment online, extract new student ID cards, establish bank and email accounts, get copy of the time tables, book new appointments at the UQU main campus and use the LiveChat online service.

He said at least 17,000 students were accepted this year at different medical, scientific and literature programs while 70 others enrolled at the main campus and branches in Jumum, Al-Leith, Al-Qunfudah and Adham. Up to 272 students were accepted to the preparatory year's night study courses while the affiliate programs accepted about 1,368 students.

The dean added that the total number of students hit 19,000 in all academic diploma and bachelor programs. He saluted President of Umm Al Qura University Dr. Bakri Bin M'atoog Bin Bakri Assas and his vice-president Al-Srouji over their interest and keen follow-up of the admission measures.

In the same context, Dr. Al-Srouji hailed efforts exerted to set this year admission mechanism as an effective plan for the successful enrollment to meet student wishes and the number of available seats. The mechanism makes available new technologies and highly qualified staff who can help students receive their services.

He highlighted support shown by Dr. Assas for the UQU Vice-Presidency for Educational Affairs in developing the educational program and extended thanks for Dr. Al Ghamdi.
